THE EVOLUTION OF CALPURNIA TATE and THE CURIOUS. WORLD OF CALPURNIA TATE by Jacqueline Kelly

By Jwoyi @ 11,(^o^)(^o^)

1. The Evolution of CalpurNia Tate

I find it interesting that Calpurnia loved science . I also felt funny that why the girls in the olden days are expected to cook and sew (・o・)(・o・)(・o・). I also felt weird that why her family finds it weird for her to love science .

2. The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate .

This story is about Calpurnia and the animals. So I think actually she liked animals more than science.(*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡

My idiot story . .....Oops! I mean idiom . ^_^

By Jwoyi @ 11

Today at school our English teacher - Madam Tan asks us to copy down 14 idioms and its meaning in our writing book . And then , we need to memorise it . She said that we need to recite it to her next week on Tuesday because there are no English class on Monday .

So when I got home I tell mummy ,
Me : Mummy , today I will memorise seven idioms and tomorrow I will memorise seven idioms . Can ?
Mummy : Of course ! It is up to you .
Me : Yay! Okay , Mummy , now I will recite it to you and then you tell me if it is correct . Okay ?
Mummy :  N-o- , no . You go and write it on a piece of paper and I want you to write an essay abou it .                       Okay ?
Me : Okay....... -_-

So I ended up writing an essay and wrote up the meaning of the idioms on top of it . Haha . >o<

Jwoyi have to wear glasses. OMG!!!!!

By Idakhoo @ Jwoyi's mummy

Ok this is what I have to blog it too so that you know when you start wearing your glasses. This happen in the year 2015. On the 30th Jan 2015, we need to drop kong kong to check up and then I took you to Belissa Row in Pulau Tikus to wait for him. While sitting in one of the shop drinking coffee we got bored and I ask you if you would like to go check your eyesight just for fun and you agree.

It happen that the optometrist used to be our neighbor. So after checking I found out that you need to wear glasses and that freak me out big time as I DON'T WANT you to wear glasses. After getting your eyesight checked you told me that actually everyday in class when ever you need to copy from the whiteboard you will go to the front because you can't see from the back. Then I ask you why you did not tell me earlier you thought it is normal.

You trying out the frame

You start wearing glasses in Feb 2015 until now. I am so so so so so SAD.

You before wearing glasses so pretty

You wearing glasses still look pretty :)

Jwoyi got her ear pierced

By Idakhoo @ Jwoyi's mummy

I know that it has been so many years and only now I am blogging about this. But I want to capture all the moment so that you can read it next time.

This is a very long story. You pierced your ear twice. Yes you read it correctly. TWICE!!!!! The first time happen in the year 2013 when you were 7 years old. You have it pierced in Kulim during your school holiday when your daddy was back in Penang. We went to Kulim to visit po po and at the same time have your ears pierced.  It is on the 17th Aug 2013. Your po po pay for everything for you. But after piercing she said people said that if want to pierce your ears you need to pierced it on your birthday if not that it will turn bad. What bad omen. I don't believe all that but it turn out right. Your kong kong accidentally swipe your ear thinking that there is something on it but actually it is bleeding and all this happen in Uncle Albert when we were having lunch there after school with Florence ahmah. And you were crying as it is painful so end up you took off the other side and the holes closed up.

Then after that I did ask you a few times if you would like to pierce your ear. And we get it done in 23rd of Nov 2015. This time I took you to Gurney Plaza and pierce. And it is not on your birthday. And it turn out good. So happy.

Jwoyi's 11th Birthday

By Idakhoo@ Jwoyi's mummy

I am blogging this after one week. What a lazy mum am I!!!!

This is the 2nd time that your daddy can't celebrate your birthday with you. You were sad about the news but as an understanding child you are you did not whine about it.

This year your daddy cannot come back due to his b.i. of the stoopid f*#@*&# boss who did not approve his leave. Your daddy ask him few times but he ignore him so I told your daddy to forget about it as he won't approve from the way that b.i. reaction. Enough about this.

So as you know every year your birthday always and forever will falls in the Chinese 9 moon meaning in the period of the Nine Emperor day. So you  can only celebrate with me because kong kong and ahmah on vegetarian for nine days.

On that day for breakfast we had bread at home. Then at 10a.m. we went to Gurney Plaza. Since it is still early we decide to walk to Paragon but soon it start to drizzle so end up we walk back to Gurney. Then we went to Popular book store and bought some nice pens for your planner and diary. Then we went to MPH bookstore and bought you two books. We also get a stack of nice diary paper white in colour with nice cute drawing on it.

Then we decide to have lunch and as usual you are fickle minded. Can't decide what to have for lunch and we end up having Sushi King. And you enjoy it very much.

After that we walk to Paragon and got you crop top and walk for a bit more before we walk back to Gurney and as both of us are super duper tired we stop at Starbuck and you had the salted caramel ice cream and for drink we share ice blanded maple pecan latte. Yummsious. Slurp slurp.

Then we drove home and took our bath then went out for dinner at Strait Quay. You requested Dome. We ordered mushroom chicken and hawaian pizza. For drink we order my favourite drink orange pekoe tea. We share all that. While waiting for the food you took out the picture that you took using your birthday present the instax mini 9 and write your diary and label the pictures.

Overall you had a very happy birthday and you enjoy it to your heart content but the only thing that both of us miss is spending this memorable day with your daddy.

HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY my precious bao bei.
Mummy and daddy love you to the moon and back.

May you grow up happily and keep on working hard to become a successful person. Never afraid to fail take it as a life lesson and strive for the better the next time. If there is no failure then you will never grow up. So mummy hope that you will always remember this.

Running Above the Roof Of the World by Jess Butterworth

By Jwoyi @ 11

This book is about how a girl went to find the Dalai Lama to rescue her parents from the soldiers prison.
From this book , I learn that if we always have hope  , things will always turn out unbelievably okay . I also learnt that we need to always think positively no matter how desperate we are.

My Secret Sister by Helen Edwards and Jenny Lee Smith

By Jwoyi @ 11 :-|)

This book is the true story of Helen and her twin sister , Jenny . They were separeted six weeks after birth , Helen remained with her parents while her sister is adopted . Both of them always felt that something was missing and longed for a brother or sister. Although they don't know the existence of each other, they still will kind of feel it. I think no matter what or how a pair of twins will still kind of feel or know that each other existed. Helen's father abused her. From here I know that even your own parents can abuse you. And from reading this book I realised that how evil a person can be and how a parent can abuse his/her own child without even regretting or simpath ise or even care about him/her . I've also wondered how can Helen tolerate all of this??? On the other hand, Jenny is treated very well and very much loved by the parents whom adopted her. In the end, they still managea to reunion. They sure are very happy.

The Hungry Monster by Michelle Wong

By Jwoyi @ 11

This book is about a naughty boy and how end up he turned obedient . From this book I learnt that we  need to be good and never bully the others or get into fights . Or just doing anything wrong and refuse to change because the karma will always come back to you . And by the time we were punished and wanted to change , it was always too late .

I like this book very much.

Anne of the Island by L.M.Montgomery

By Jwoyi@ 11

It had been so Long but end up she still found her house . I think no matter what we will still always find our family ,embers or where they had once lived or their grave .

I find this book a little boring .

Anne of Avonlea by L.M.Montgomery

By Jwoyi @ 11

This book is a the second book on Anne . In this book Marilla adopted a pair of twins . The boy - Davy is an interesting, cheeky and curious boy . I like Davy because sometimes he does some very cheeky things . The girl - Dora is obedient, but I don’t like her because somehow I think that she is way toooooooooo obedient . I’d prefer it if only she is not so obedient and at least be a little cheerful and fun sometimes . She doesn’t even laugh . In this book Anne works as a teacher in her old school. I like Anne as she is just almost as cheerful and adventurous as when she is little . I think I like her that way . I would have hate it if she turned Super serious . I think sometimes we must still be playful even if we are grown up if not the world would be Super duper boring .

I will update next week on the book Anne of the Island.

Jwoyi's birthday present

By Idakhoo@Jwoyi's mummy

Your 11th birthday is approaching. So you said you want a Fuji film instax camera. So I look it up at lazada and the latest model is Instax mini 9. The reason you pick this is because you want to snap important moment and stick it in your diary and write about it.

So I told daddy and Line him the picture and he ask me to check at Gurney and Tesco. There are two shops at Gurney. One quote me RM348 and only free one box of film. The second shop quote me RM368 and free gift same as lazada. I ask as Tesco one of the outside small shop they don't carry but can order for me an I ask how much and the man said RM500+. FAINTED!!!!!!

Then I talk to dad last night and also told him one box of film is about RM170 at gurney and he said it is too expensive. Might as well buy you a camera and develop the film. Then I told him that then no need to buy camera just use hand phone will do.

Your papa said if your hand shake the photo will turn out blur. If you focus not accurate then the photo will turn out bad. So you will waste your film.

So this morning I told you my conversation with dad and tell you the reason why and ask you to choose other things.

Then you told me I know what I want. You said can you buy my papa for me? Is it possible? Can or not?

You think leh????

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

update on your birthday prrsent.

10th Oct 2017 a package arrived and I told you open this package. I told you few days earlier that I am going to buy a scary mask as halloween is near and I am going to scare you crazy.

So I said that open the package it is the mask that I ordered. You open it and surprise it is not scary mask. What do you think it is?

It is the instax mini 9 camera for your birthday. You were so happy.

I am NOT a perfect mummy

By Idakhoo@Jwoyi's mummy

Today I took Jwoyi to Gurney Starbucks for breakfast then going to Popular bookstore to buy revision book for science because do you know why?????

The reason is brcause yesterday Jwoyi did the last set of science paper and she got most of the questions WRONG!!!!!!!. So I freak out and took her to buy another set of revision book.

Did I put too much pressure on her? Am I a bad mother? These are the questions that are always I can't answer. But I know that I am definitly not a perfect mother. I am just trying my best along the way and I know that I did lots of mistakes. So I am NOT perfect at all.  😱😓

隐形法宝救救我by 谢智慧

By Jwoyi @ 11

This book is about a boy who don't understand English. So , his father decided to sent him to a camp with all the international school students . Oh , he was so annoyed . His father gave him an electronic dictionary so that he can translate what he wants to say and understand what others are talking about . When people talks to him , he would just answer yes , no or I don't know as he don'tunderstand what the others are talking about . However , when he reacher the camp , he realised his electronically dictionary was exchanged !!! That dictionary can project out a human which only he can see . That huaman helped him to translate . At first he didn't let others know that he don't understand English , but in the end it was revealed .

Actually if I am that boy I would feel very humiliated . As he did not understand English, he was kept on being sighed at . I think if his family want to improve his English , they should actually start it at home by communicating with him in English . That would improve his English faster and easier.

This is all about it . It is quite a nice book . 😀😀

Anne of Green Gables by L.M.Montgomery

By Jwoyi @ 11

This is an interesting book. Anne is an orphan adopted by Marilla Cuthbert and her brother , Matthew Cuthbert . Although they are expecting a boy, they still adopted Anne in the end . Anne is a interesting , imaginative , talkative and clumsy girl . Although Marilla appeared to be stern , she actually is a very kind woman and she loves Anne very much . At first when she first adopted Anne , she kept on telling Anne off for talking too much , but she actually don't care about it and quite kind of like it . I enjoy reading how Anne causes troubles like when she baked a cake she accidentally put anodyne liniment  in it instead of vanilla extract . Another time , she had dyed her hair green . But Marilla never punish  her for all the trouble she causes . :)
I like Anne because she is interesting and I like to read about how she talks using big words .😁😁😁

Okay, look out for my next update on Anne of Avonlea. I am reading it right now .  Suppose I'd finish it by next week.

By The Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder

by Jwoyi @ 11

This book is about the true story of Laura Ingalls Wilder. She has three sisters. She had wrote a series of books about herself and this is one of it. This is my first book I read by her but it is not the first book. It is because mummy and I don't know at first. Anyway, this book is about how her family and her move out from their house and to find a homestead. Before that , her mother, her eldest sister , her younger sister and her youngest sister had got scarlet fever so only her father and her could work and do the household chores. Furthermore ,  the scarlet fever had hit her eldest sister-Mary's eyes and Mary had gotten blind. Poor Mary.  In the end of the story , they had successfully found a perfect homestead and  had finally settled down well.

Actually I felt pity on her family after reading about her story because they had to suffer through so many things through their life. When I read the introduction of the rest of the books is mostly about how she and her family suffered through difficulties or challenges. I also admire her for she could face all these things.

I really hope I could get the rest of the books because I think the story is going to be  very interesting .😏😏😏

By Idakhoo@Jwoyi's mummy

Few weeks ago there is a new girl in your class and you and XY were friend with her. You told me that some of your classmate ask her to unfriend XY but she don't care and still mix with her.

Then problem start to surface because as she get to know more people and it happens that the art project are done in a group of two. And both you and her are in one group and XY is not happy.

She told you and the girl that she can be friend with only one of you! You told me that she repeated that sentence three times but both of you ignore her demand.

The only advise that I can give is everyone have rights to pick their own friends and no one can demand you to be whose and whose friends. Never ever let anyone control who you can be friends with. Everyone have freedom to choose.

I wonder what will hapoen today at school. 😩😩

Sunday Breakfast

By Idakhoo@Jwoyi's mummy

Starbuck is our usual Sunday breakfast. As usual I drove to Tanjong Tokong Starbuck and when we reach both of us found that the car park was empty without cars. And you said that we are early and I said no we are not early. Then we went in and I order our usual and the lady said that the oven breakdown and we can only order cake and beverages only.

So end up we went to Tesco Tanjung Pinang for McDonald breakfast.

Matilda by Roald Dahl

By Jwoyi @ 11

This is a very nice book. It is about a girl named Matilda who can move things with her eyes. It is quite funny when I read about how her parents treat her and how her headmistress in school treats the students. The part that I like best is where she scared her headmistress by picking up a piece of chalk and writing on the board by using her eye power. I also like the part when she visits her teacher - Miss Honey's house. Matilda is a Math genius. At the age of five she could do multiplication with big numbers like 254x 44. She could calculate it out at once while Miss Honey still need to use a calculater. It is fun reading about how fast she could do her maths. At the end of the story, her family is going to be arrested by a police and they need to move to somewhere far away immediately. Luckily, Miss Honey and her parents agreed to let Miss Honey adopt her. It is a very nice and happy ending. At least she don't need to face her parents doing things to her like burning up her library book .

When you start to read story books to fiction books

By Idakhoo@Jwoyi's mummy

When we first came back to Penang we decided to send you to chinese school. So I was afraid that your English will be poor so I start to search for simple easy books for you to read. Your very simple first book is "Heidi Heckelbeck".

Bought you the volumn 1 and you love it so end up we collect the series and it is still ongoing but you don't read that any more as too simple.

The next set of books is "Lotus Lane". And the series consist of only four books.

Then from here on you kept on reading and as the books are expensive I decide to looks for cheaper books. I got most of your books from MPH bookstore in Gurney.

So then I saw advert on cheap books and they will have the sales only once a year and it is called Big Bad Wolf Books sales. So your ee ee will take us there and the books are all at around RM 5 to RM 10. I bought lots for you.

These are the books that I got from Big Bad Wolf and Popular sales. You read all this in the year 2014 and 2015.

But by then I think that these are all to simple and you need to start to read more words and not all simple big words books. So by end of 2015 when I went to Popular bookstore in Gurney I saw them promoting Roald Dahl's books and I saw Matilda and I watch that movie when I was young. So I decided to buy you the book and told you that this is your year end project. You need to read it then tell me all about it when you finish the book. And told you that once you finish I will go get the movie for you to watch.

From this point onwards you love Roald Dahl's books and these are your collection.

The next book after Matilda is Annie and you love it so much.

From here onwards you read thick and small print books. The below books you read it in 2016 and 2017.
I bought most of the books from MPH bookstore and online bookstore Bookxcess. Bookxcess online books are cheap and usually I will buy 10 books per order.

So now I don't know what kind of books to buy for you. You have read most of the books and I don't want to buy you love stories and you hate horror and mystery. So what to buy you next? I am in a dilemma.
