Jwoyi have to wear glasses. OMG!!!!!

Ok this is what I have to blog it too so that you know when you start wearing your glasses. This happen in the year 2015. On the 30th Jan 2015, we need to drop kong kong to check up and then I took you to Belissa Row in Pulau Tikus to wait for him. While sitting in one of the shop drinking coffee we got bored and I ask you if you would like to go check your eyesight just for fun and you agree. 

It happen that the optometrist used to be our neighbor. So after checking I found out that you need to wear glasses and that freak me out big time as I DON'T WANT you to wear glasses. After getting your eyesight checked you told me that actually everyday in class when ever you need to copy from the whiteboard you will go to the front because you can't see from the back. Then I ask you why you did not tell me earlier you thought it is normal.

Jwoyi got her ear pierced

I know that it has been so many years and only now I am blogging about this. But I want to capture all the moment so that you can read it next time.

This is a very long story. You pierced your ear twice. Yes you read it correctly. TWICE!!!!! The first time happen in the year 2013 when you were 7 years old. You have it pierced in Kulim during your school holiday when your daddy was back in Penang. We went to Kulim to visit po po and at the same time have your ears pierced.  It is on the 17th Aug 2013. Your po po pay for everything for you. But after piercing she said people said that if want to pierce your ears you need to pierced it on your birthday if not that it will turn bad. What bad omen. I don't believe all that but it turn out right. Your kong kong accidentally swipe your ear thinking that there is something on it but actually it is bleeding and all this happen in Uncle Albert when we were having lunch there after school with Florence ahmah. And you were crying as it is painful so end up you took off the other side and the holes closed up.

Then after that I did ask you a few times if you would like to pierce your ear. And we get it done in 23rd of Nov 2015. This time I took you to Gurney Plaza and pierce. And it is not on your birthday. And it turn out good. So happy.

I am NOT a perfect mummy

Today I took Jwoyi to Gurney Starbucks for breakfast then going to Popular bookstore to buy revision book for science because do you know why?????

The reason is brcause yesterday Jwoyi did the last set of science paper and she got most of the questions WRONG!!!!!!!. So I freak out and took her to buy another set of revision book.

Did I put too much pressure on her? Am I a bad mother? These are the questions that are always I can't answer. But I know that I am definitly not a perfect mother. I am just trying my best along the way and I know that I did lots of mistakes. So I am NOT perfect at all.  😱😓

Sunday Breakfast

Starbuck is our usual Sunday breakfast. As usual I drove to Tanjong Tokong Starbuck and when we reach both of us found that the car park was empty without cars. And you said that we are early and I said no we are not early. Then we went in and I order our usual and the lady said that the oven breakdown and we can only order cake and beverages only.

So end up we went to Tesco Tanjung Pinang for McDonald breakfast.

Shopping for Chinese story book.

Yesterday I took you to Gurnay Popular to buy some Chinese story books. You read more English books than Chinese books. So since you told me that some of the Chinese books in the school library is nice but you dont have time to read and have to return back to library so I suggest that we go buy the books.

So this is what you bought.

You pick five Chinese books and three English books. But you are not allow to read until after exam that is after 5th October.

The next update I will tell you more on your reading habits.

Upade on your swimming lesson

We went there and paid for it. You were so excited to start your lesson and then they tell us your timing is so out. Some lesson in the evening and some lesson you want it in the morning. They said people will usually pick the same timing for the lesson. If they pick morning then all their lesson will be in the morning if they pick evening time then all their lesson time will be in the evening. Then I told them you need to go to school during weekdays and only weekend can do it in the morning.

So end up we will have 2 lesson per week instead of 4 lesson per week. So now your lesson is on Saturday and Sunday from 8.30 to 10.00am.

When I tell you that today you won't start your lesson you were so dissapointed and nearly cry.
Then I tell you we'll go get ice-cream and you cheer up again. Hahahaha....

Jwoyi's first day taking swimming lesson

I found out from Aunty Agnes that there is a clubhouse at our housing area. And there is a swimming that is only open during summer. So daddy check it out and it will be taught by the life guard and for 10 lessons is RMB1000.

So today is your first day and hope that you will enjoy.

Falling ff the bed!

Last night sleep half way thru the night suddenly I hear a loud thud and suddenly you cried mummy help. I woke up but still not fully awake and rush to your bed and you were not on your bed. You are gone!!!!

Then I heard you calling mummy and I look beside your bed and saw you fall beside your bed, and got squash between your bed and the wardrobe. I pull you up and you went straight back to sleep. How funny. And this morning I ask you do you know what happen last night you said yes and I ask you how did you fall and you said you don't know.

Muahahahha.......   

I don't want to be a plumber if I'm a boy

Yesterday our kitchen sink piping leak. So I call the building maintenance man to come over and have a look. Then he said need to change the whole piping as too old and all got block.

So at 7:00pm the man come over and fix the piping and you said you want to go and see how he fix it. So you took a small stool and sat beside the man and look at him fix. Then you suddenly turn around and tell me if I'm a boy and when I grow up I don't want to be a plumber. I ask you why and you said that it need lots of work and have to smell dirty smelly pipes.

Luckily the man doesn't know English if not he is going to tell you if no body wants to be plumber then nobody going to fix this and you have to do it yourself!

Bad News

This happen one week ago on the 15th of Jan 2011. I took you to the hospital with me as Kong Kong and Amah was not at home. I went for urgent check up and found out that I have a miscarriage. I'm so sad and I call daddy and tell him the news. You saw me crying and ask me what happen and I said I'll tell you when we get in the car.

When we were in the car you ask me what happen and I told you that the baby did not grow any bigger and there is no heart beat. The baby died. You won't be a big sister after all. You you keep on asking why and I try to tell you that living things need heart beat. And the baby no longer have a heart beat.

You cried all the way back to Kong Kong and Amah's house. Tears flow down to your neck and I tell you please don't cry It's okay. And you said no I want the baby. I want to be a big sister. You keep on crying and I beg you not to cry when we reach home if not Kong Kong will cry too. So you end up stop crying when we reach Kong Kong's house. Luckily Kong Kong and Amah not home yet. I took you in the house and wipe your face and tell you not to cry anymore.

You did not mention about the baby anymore, but when you play games with your bear (banana) or mickey mouse you keep on saying that they are you little sister. I'm so sorry that this happen and I'm sad looking at you as you really want to be a big sister.

I find out that I am pregnant few weeks ago, And I tell you about it. You are so happy and excited. You tell me that you are going to be a big sister. And I ask you what should we give the baby's name. You said well we can call the baby small Milo. You are so funny and I laugh my head off.

Then I tell you don't tell anyone about this until I confirm and that will be when we go back Penang. At that time we'll be gong back to Penang already. So I tell you don't tell your teachers, school friends, kuku and also the rest of the people. I said if you tell anyone I won't be telling you anymore secret. You really keep that secret well until when we get back to Penang and I went for a check up. When I got home I take you upstairs and show you the picture. You ran down and tell kong kong and amah about you going to be a big sister.

I'm so proud of you for being able to keep this a secret for so long.

Guess what is in the tin?

You like to play guessing game now. You ask me to let you play with the Yang Yang biscuit empty tin. I give it to you and you ran off with it. I'm in the kitchen and you come in again.

You said mummy guess what is in the tin and I said I don't know. Then you give me a hint by drawing it on the wall using your finger. I can tell it's a square shape thingy but not sure what is it. So I said it's your block. You said no guess again. Hmm......I can't think of anything that small and square that can put in the tin so I said I give up. Tell me what is inside.

You open the lid of the tin and show me. It's a red dice.

Jwo Yi first real scissors

You were cutting paper this morning with plastic kids scissors and you don't seems to be able to cut. So I told you that I'll get you a real one but for kids. We went to Imago but can't find one. On the way home we stop at one of the stationery shop and we found it.

You enjoy cutting paper with the scissors but I keep on reminding you that don't accidentally cut your hair and fingers.

Then you said mummy take a photo of me and my first real scissors. So here goes. This is your pic.

Jwo Yi + Chicken = Chickadee Jwo

I took you down to have a stroll and we walk towards the market. Even it's already 4:00pm all the stalls selling vegetables and fruits are still open. As we walk you see a man selling chicken. ALIVE chicken. You were so afraid of the chicken until you walk to the middle of the road. I tell you to look at the chicken's feet. The man tie the chicken's feet with a string to the basket and the chicken won't come near you at all. But you are still afraid end up I have to carry you on the way back as you scared that the chicken will eat you up!!!!!.

Sleeping by yourself

I started to train you to sleep by yourself early this year during winter. But not successful. So now I start again because I really have enough with you already. Every night have to scold and make me angry so end up I warn you. If you don't want to sleep by yourself then I'll send you to school full day and let your teacher to train you to sleep by yourself. Once you can do that then only you can go for half day. As soon as you hear that you sleep by yourself.

So when your daddy come back form Beijing for the China National day, daddy said want to sleep with you but I said cannot because since I start to train you I don't want daddy to spoil it again. I feel bad but I have to be firm with you if not then it'll fail again. And your daddy insist want to accompany you to sleep and I said to you that if your daddy want to cause you to stay at school full day then you can let daddy sleep with you. If you don't want then you ask your daddy to go out and you sleep alone.

Sorry Jwo, I know you miss you daddy very much but I have no choice here. Hope you understand. But daddy still tell you bed time stories. And I still tuck you in and kiss you goodnight. I think it's a success this time and I'm proud of you. Good job Jwo.

Jwo Yi's life Part 3

Part 3 change is not that drastic. It's just that we are still in Shanghai but your daddy need to be in Beijing for the next half year starting from Sept 2010. He'll be back for the weekend only. Meaning daddy will be in Beijing for two weeks then fly back to Shanghai for the weekend then fly back to Beijing again. Then after two weeks he'll fly back to Shanghai for the weekend then back to Beijing again.

You are still not use to it. You'll tell me I miss my daddy and show me your sad face. But the funny thing is that when daddy call you won't talk to him but you'll tell me you miss him.

And now you are counting down to the day your daddy come home. Every morning I have to listen to you counting down. Like this morning you ask me what day is today and I said Monday. Then you'll said tomorrow is Tuesday and the next day is Wednesday then Thursday then Friday. YEAH my daddy will be back. Then when I pick you up form school you'll start again counting when your daddy is coming home.

I really feel pity for you as you will miss your daddy when your daddy not calling you and when your daddy call you, you are busy with your own things. The timing always not good when your daddy call end up you did not talk much to daddy.

At first you don't take it well because I can feel that you feel not safe and stable without your daddy here. You'll whine and cry and make lots of problem for me. But now your are alright but still miss your daddy dearly.

Poor baby.......

I don't know why you suddenly tell me what you want to eat for this week. You did not say what you want to eat on Thursday. So what shall I cook? Hmmm..... hope that you can think of something for me later. So here we go.

Monday 20th Sept 2010 : Fried rice with egg
Tuesday 21st Sept 2010 : Porridge with century egg and minced pork
Wednesday 22nd Sept 2010 : Salmon
Thursday 23rd Sept 2010 : ?????
Friday 24th Sept 2010 : Salmon again


Talking about salmon, you suddenly like it so much so that you request to have it everyday. So end up your daddy and you come to an agreement. You can have your salmon 3 times a week. That is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Hahahaha....

Jwo Yi is down with fever (8th Sep 2010)

Jwo you are down with fever today. The previous night you cough like crazy and this morning you have fever. So you did not go to school and after milk I give you the Chinese Medicine. I use the syringe to give you the medicine.

Luckily today your fever is not high and your daddy not around. If you have high fever then I'll be "kalam-kabut".

I cook porridge for you but you did not want to eat and end up you  drink milk for lunch only. Then you surprise me and said that you want to drink the medicine from the bottle using the straw. I let you do it as what you want and you finish it. I'm so proud of you.

At night also same you eat a bit of porridge only then you drink milk again. Then you drink the medicine form the bottle again.  But you cough like crazy when you sleep even tho your kuku already apply the Vicks for you.

I'm so worry now. Hopefully you'll still have your voice tomorrow morning. And hopefully the fever will be gone for good tomorrow morning. What a day.

Jwo making funny faces

Out of boredom I ask you to make funny faces and I took photo of it. You looks so funny for all the faces that you make. Oh you know how to turn / wrap up your tongue. Surprises me when you first know how to do it. So I ask you to do it and take a photo for you  to prove to you when you are big that at the age of four you discover that you can fold your tongue. COOL!!!!

Jwo Yi's life Part 2

Part 2  is about we move to Shanghai. We move to Shanghai on the 17th Jan 2010. When we first came we stay at Renaissance Shanghai Zhongsan Park Hotel (No. 1018 Changning Road,,Changning District Shanghai, Shanghai 200042 Chin)

 

 After the first week you were sick. Down with fever. I'm so worry as this is your first time at a winter environment. But luckily after taking medicine you are all right. It's such a big change for you in lots of ways. 

 

One is the weather You are not use to winter clothing. You need to wear long-johns inside then only your long sleeve and long pants. Then when we go out you need to wear coat and scarf. Then because it's winter you need to apply body cream so that your skin is not too dry. After few weeks your leg looks so ugly because your skin dry until it crack. Gosh am I worry for you. But the most happiest for you is you bath only once per day. But when the time come for you to bath you'll cry as it's cold.

 

The second one is the food. You don't seems to like to eat the food here when we first get here. And as we stay in the hotel we eat out most of the time. You only like the spinach noodle or the fried fish in soy sauce with rice and you just eat the rice with the soy sauce and not the fish.  I worry for you too as you don't eat much. But all that changes when we move in to the rented  house as I cook everyday for you and you eat like normal again.

 

The third one is language problem. When we first enroll you in the new kindergarten  called Happy Valley Bilingual Kindergarten I'm a bit worry as the teachers there are local. And  they speak Mandarin in the class and you are not use to listen to Chinese at all. As most of your class in Penang is in English. But the head mistress said no problem you'll manage in no time. When I talk to the teaches in your class , it seems like they don't speak English. So I just teach you how to say  "Teacher I want to go pee" but this is another headache. You doesn't know how to squad down to pee. And you'll just cry when the teacher ask you to pee. You'll just hold until we get home and pee on the floor as you cannot hold any longer. I'm so mad at you and end up I have to ask your teacher to let you use potty.

 

I hope there won't be any more changes for you.

But that is just a hope that is not going to happen because we'll move back to Penang one day and that one day is ???????.

 

So Jwo there will be another change in the near future but I don't know when yet.

So we'll see and we'll change and adapt when the time come.
